If there is one characteristic that has always distinguished Naples from all other cities in the world, it is the infinite imagination of its inhabitants: a gift that, over the centuries, has helped to make the Neapolitans true artists in getting by in any situation and in spite of any difficulty.
Creativity has always helped the people of Naples to face life with optimism and confidence in the future, even when it comes to inventing a job.
One of these is definitely ‘o pazzariello, figure, a man in bizarre and colourful clothes, holding a stick with which he directed a small group of players who accompanied him. O pazzariello was a street artist, a very widespread and characteristic figure of Naples at the end of the eighteenth, nineteenth and first half of the twentieth century, a kind of street jester who attracted passers-by with his weird little shows.
He could usually be found on the streets, dressed in a very showy way, while he was holding wine or other products (usually bread and pasta) that were entrusted to him by a nearby cellar or shop to advertise himself. In fact, with dances, dances and rhymes, he used to announce the opening of new shops accompanied by a small orchestra
Moreover, it was not uncommon to find him at some village festival or festival where he tried to attract as many visitors as possible to auction off some items received from the organizers to increase the proceeds of the event.
The figure of the madman was enhanced and made famous by the great Totò, who played him in the film adaptation of “L’oro di Napoli”

Our craftsmen have dedicated this deer pattern, entirely hand-sewn, to this historical figure trying to express the joy with the colours combined with materials.
